Pinnacle Of A 500 Year Long Struggle : Ram Mandir In Ayodhya

Many of you might not even understand why today's historic event is being seen as the culmination of a 500 year old struggle. I, like yourself, was a bit addled at the thought of this at first. Why the construction of a temple is being broadcasted and documented so religiously all over the country? And like many "seculars" have already raised the question, why not build an educational institution or a hospital instead?

Before you go ahead and satiate your curiosity, I would urge you to have neutral and sensible mindset.

Let's begin by asking some similar questions that would concern these so called seculars. Why is it necessary to have the Jubilee synagogue in Jerusalem? Why is it necessary to have the Papal Basilica of Saint Peter Church in Vatican City? Why is it necessary to have a Grand Haram Mosque at Mecca and Medina? Why is it necessary to have Mahabodhi temple in Bihar?  I hope you see where I am going with this.

Just like these places are some of the holiest and revered places of worship for people of respective religions, Ram Mandir that is being built in Ayodhya has an equal importance for Hindus. It is really unfortunate that a sect of Indians have been constantly denied a place of worship in one of the holiest cities for the past 500 years.
Just imagine their plight and anguish before you start throwing tantrums and being irrational.
Ram Mandir is not just a temple but an emotion that is associated with the triumph over tyranny that our ancestors went through under Mughals as well as over pseudo Secularism that we experience almost every day in our day to day lives.

Before you go ahead and curse me, let me make it very clear I am no religious extremist trying to justify hate mongering and religious prejudice but I do believe that everyone's sentiments should be equally respected. Don’t you think Hindus have been long taken for granted to pacify the self-worth of certain factions of the country?
